Ceramic veneers are an aesthetic ceramic plates covering the front surfaces of teeth. The dentist have to create room for the porcelain veneers. A very small amount of the tooth enamel must be removed before applying a veneer, in most cases less than a millimeter.
Clinics equipped with CEREC® can apply veneers while you wait. But the teeth must be free of decay. It is often necessary to whiten and repair the teeth before applying veneers. The color of facets should be bright and the same as the color of natural teeth.
Unlike natural teeth, ceramic veneers resist coffee and tea stains, and cigarette smoke. Your natural teeth remain largely intact. They look very natural and are a very good way to change the shape and color of the teeth as well as close spaces or correct rotated teeth.
The main difference is that Lumineers are made from a special patented porcelain that is very strong and could be much thinner than other fabricated veneers. Lumineers can be placed on the teeth without removal of the tooth enamel, therefore it is a reversible procedure. Lumineers can be placed only on teeth that are in good structural condition.
First the dentist examine the tooth to make sure that it can support a crown. Then the tooth is grinded with local anesthesia to be prepared for the crown. Thanks to CAD/CAM system CEREC® you can expect fast and high quality outcome during one visit.
A dentist treats the tooth to the required shape and then scans it using a special CEREC camera. After scanning, the tooth is converted into a 3D model and the scan becomes three-dimensional. Then the crown is designed and is sent by the system to the mill unit that fabricates the relevant tooth replacement. Then the crown is cemented with a permanent cement or dental glue. With Cerec the dentist makes up to 20 teeth per day.
The insertion of the titan dental implant is completely painless, it is done with local anesthesia in an outpatient setting.
During the treatment a titanium screw is inserted into the jawbone. First the gum is cut, because the jawbone must be exposed. Subsequently required number of holes is drilled into the bone. The post of implant is inserted deep into the bone. The operation is completed by sewing up the wound. Titanium is material which the human body accepts without any complications, it causes any allergic reactions.
It takes from 6 to 8 weeks for the titanium implant to heal in the bone. Then it serves as the root of an artificial tooth. Once the implant is healed a ceramic crown is attached to it. You can choose between fixed and removable implant prosthesis.
Antibiotics are prescribed with surgery and need to be taken as instructed by the doctor.
The pain after the procedure is mild, lasting 1-2 days after the insertion of the implant. Your doctor will prescribe or recommend a suitable type of analgesic.
Eat soft lukewarm food, lukewarm drink and not wash out the oral cavity in the first 24 hours after treatment. Self-dissolving stitches, which don't need to be removed.
CEREC® consists of a scanner, a computer with software and a mill unit.
The crown is fixed to a tooth using the adhesive method.
For most effective treatment it is best if you provide X-ray picture in advance before journey. If it is not possible, you will get X-ray at the clinic and after that you consult with your dentist the whole procedure.
If your teeth are clean, healthy and in your desired color you can have the treatment the same day. In other cases you will decide together with your dentist on your personal treatment plan.
Microorganisms in the oral cavity could impair the healing process after implantation. Very good dental hygiene is a must.
You are to know, that the bone disappears after the tooth loss. If the jawbone is too weak, the bone remodeling (grafting) is needed prior implantation, the implant must have a solid base. Therefore the surgeon must evaluate the state of teeth, quality of jawbone and gums via RTG image.
All treatments are performed under local anaesthesy. The lenght of procedure depends on its scale. You might experience some discomfort, but no pain.
After the procedure, when the anesthesia has worn off, the patient may feel some sensitivity or soreness, because of slightly damaged gums around the tooth. The pain is minimal and shouldn't last long.
Perfect daily hygiene of the oral cavity contributes to the long-term success of the application of an implant and other dental protetics and its lifetime.
Insertion of a dental implant is not 100% risk free. It is a process that carries certain risks such as infection in the wound, allergies to drugs, anaesthesia. In a small percentage of people an implant does not heal or will become loose in the bone over several years. Perfect daily hygiene of the oral cavity contributes to the long-term success of the application of an implant and its lifetime.
